History buffs can look forward to exploring the National Museum of Civil War Medicine, the Francis Scott Keys monument, and the Schifferstadt Architectural Museum, all which showcase the county’s fascinating past.

To connect with nature, spend the day at Catoctin State Park. Located in north-central Maryland, this 5,770-acre park maintains 25 miles of hiking trails with difficulty ratings from easy to strenuous. In addition to hiking, visitors can rent a historic wooden cabin or camp under the stars.

Finally, wine connoisseurs can enjoy an afternoon spent at Linganore Winery, first established in 1972. Over the past 45 years, this winery prides themselves on offering award-winning wine produced by fertile soils, abundant sunshine, and skilled winemakers.
